ABOUT RELIEF and SUPPORT SERVICES:
Formed in 1976, the vision has remained the same, to help support the impoverished people of Africa. Due to the increased prevalence of AIDS and the increasing numbers of orphaned children, an initiative was undertaken to give these orphans a hope for their future.
Relief and Support Services Canada is a non-
non-
organization who administers relief and support
programs here in Canada
and directs funds and operations through our counterparts (Relief and Support Programs)
in Kenya.
Relief & Support Services Canada has 5 directors and 3 advisory council members who volunteer their time, treasure and talents to maintain financial accountability and integrity.
OBJECTIVES:
- To create an awareness in Canada of the physical, emotional and spiritual needs in Kenya as a result of the AIDS pandemic, and to provide for an avenue to send aid to them in the name of Christ.
- To raise funds in Canada and forward these monetary gifts to national pastors in Kenya to assist in their ministry of the gospel of Christ in their local communities.
- To provide physical and spiritual care for AIDS orphans in Kenya by raising funds in Canada for the monthly child sponsorship of these children.
- Through training and education, encourage and establish the long-
term self sustainability of sponsored individuals and local projects. To adhere to the standards of the Canadian Council of Christian Charities.
