CHEMWA CHRISTIAN ACADEMY

A place of transformation - preparing students for the future and providing greater opportunity for self-sustainability.

EDUCATING THE CHILDREN OF CHEMWA:

The Chemwa Christian Academy serves the Bungoma and surrounding regions of Kenya. Anchor Academy is administering the ACE program, currently providing a quality Christian education to 16 children who cannot attend regular school. RSSC also supports vocational training such as wood work, tailoring and dress making, agricultural; livestock (Cows, Goats, Chickens).

EDUCATIONAL CENTRE - BUILDING PROJECT:

The school building continues to make good progress and the foundation has been laid. The overall budget for the school project is $30,000.00 dollars. Funds are being directed from Canada to Kenya to cover development costs, but contributions are needed to move forward.

VOCATIONAL TRAINING:

RSCC has a number of development programs underway that will build a more self-sufficient economy for the people of the region. The vocational program is now in progress and offers sponsored children opportunity for practical training courses in several areas.  A short  list of training courses has been identified to provide greater impact to the economic activity in this area. Courses include: Agriculture and Small Business; Construction - Carpentry; Masonry; Joinery; Fashion Design - Seamstress; Information & Communication Technology.

These programs will ensure a greater success for trainees entering the employment market after graduation. Programs involve both practical workshops and classroom theory lessons. Facilities will need to be in place before these programs can be implemented.

ANIMAL PROJECT:

Sponsors may purchase animals for the Chemwa Project. The animals are given to designated families who in-turn sell produced goods and off-spring back to the animal program. Specific costs vary dependent on the value of each animal.

•   Milk  cows ($550 ea.)     •   Milk goats ($330 ea.)      •   Chickens ($6 ea.)

FUNDING THROUGH SPONSORSHIP & DONATIONS:

Each of these programs require monthly funding to support learning activities. Please consider a donation or monthly contribution to support these activities .  Automatic Bank withdrawals are available for your convenience.

RSSC BURSARY FUND

Continued support for children whose sponsorship has ended…  

A Bursary Fund has been established to assist the children who have come to the end of their sponsorship because of age, but are looking to further their training or education.

This is a great blessing to assist them in becoming employable in their communities.
